The Dallas side of the move has its own rules — parking, high-rise COIs, HOA windows, tollways. We plan around all of it before the truck rolls.
- Uptown, Deep Ellum and Design District often need a temporary parking permit or cones the night before
- Downtown high-rises require a certificate of insurance and reserved elevator and dock time
- HOA-controlled neighborhoods (Preston Hollow, Lakewood, Bishop Arts) have specific move-in windows
- Tollways (Dallas North Tollway, President George Bush) are the fastest route for most north-bound moves
Plano destination logistics
Plano splits roughly into three worlds. West Plano (west of the tollway) has larger homes, mature trees, and streets that occasionally need branch planning for a 26-foot truck. Legacy West and the Shops at Legacy include high-rise residential (Windrose, Windhaven-adjacent towers) that require COIs, dock reservations and padded freight elevators. East Plano and the older core near downtown Plano have narrower lots and driveways but easier street access. HOAs in gated West Plano communities enforce move-in windows. We confirm all of it during the walkthrough.
Planning your Dallas to Plano move
